Police arrest 4 men for illegal gambling in Tseung Kwan O housing estate

Police arrested four men during an anti-gambling operation at Choi Ming Court in Tseung Kwan O on Wednesday.

The Tseung Kwan O district special duties squad detained the local men, aged between 63 and 69, on suspicion of gambling in a place other than a gambling establishment.

Playing cards and a small amount of gambling money were seized.

All four have been charged with one count of gambling in a place other than a gambling establishment and are scheduled to appear at Kwun Tong Magistrates' Court on January 15.

Police reminded the public that under Hong Kong's Gambling Ordinance, gambling outside licensed premises is illegal, carrying a maximum penalty of a HK$50,000 fine and nine months' imprisonment.
