Three teenagers allegedly set bicycles ablaze in Tuen Mun in the early hours of Friday (Dec 5), prompting police to classify the case as arson and launch a manhunt.

The incident occurred around midnight outside the Cycling Entry/Exit Hub at No. 10 Lam Tei Interchange. Police received reports of bicycles emitting smoke and catching fire. Firefighters rushed to the scene and extinguished the flames, but the bicycles were severely damaged.
Footage circulating online shows at least three youths, wearing grey, white, and black hoodies, lingering near the burning bicycles. The video shows the fire intensifying, sending thick smoke into the sky, while the teenagers reportedly rode skateboards and bicycles around the flames, shouting and laughing. Eyewitnesses reported some youths urging each other to continue, saying things like “Go! It’s burning bigger!”
After the fire grew, the three fled the scene on skateboards and bicycles.
Police said that, based on evidence from the scene and online videos, several youths are believed to be involved. Officers are actively investigating to identify and locate the suspects.
