A 22-year-old Hong Kong identity card holder of Pakistani descent, Khan Adeel, who is reported to be a sales assistant, has been charged with two offences — behaving in a disorderly manner in a public place and assaulting a police officer in execution of duty — following an incident at Kwai Chung Plaza in August 2025.
Prosecutors allege that on 27 August 2025, outside a bookstore on the mall’s second floor, the defendant shouted vulgar insults at police officers in fluent Cantonese, causing a disturbance by attempting to provoke others and undermine social order. He also allegedly assaulted an on-duty officer, who was carrying out his lawful duties.
The defense was granted an adjournment to 21 January, and the defendant will remain on bail under existing conditions.
