A 22-year-old Pakistani man holding Hong Kong identity cards was arrested for disorderly conduct on Wednesday following a confrontation with police officers at Kwai Chung Plaza.
The incident occurred around 5:00pm when the secondhand bookseller, surnamed Wong, became embroiled in a dispute with neighboring shop staff over customer solicitation.
Police were called to mediate the commercial dispute but encountered an uncooperative and emotionally agitated Wong who reportedly shouted at officers while claiming his rights as a Hong Kong-born citizen. Officers maintained calm throughout the confrontation, repeatedly warning the suspect before making the arrest after he continued disruptive behavior.
The entire interaction was captured on body-worn cameras as part of standard police procedure. Wong was taken into custody on suspicion of violating public order ordinances, with the case subsequently transferred to the Investigation Team 1 of Kwai Tsing District for further investigation.
