A 38-year-old man wanted for stabbing three Customs officers during a drug operation in To Kwa Wan on Nov 6 was arrested early Wednesday morning (Nov 12) in Yuen Long, six days after fleeing the scene.
The suspect, surnamed Wu, faces charges including assault, drug trafficking, possession of imitation firearms, and possession of offensive weapons. Police recovered a knife, five air guns, a crossbow, and drugs worth about HK$1.84 million at the unit, including 3.28kg of heroin, 40g of ketamine, and 15g of methamphetamine. A blood-stained knife was also found in the corridor.
Acting Senior Superintendent of Kowloon West Regional Crime Headquarters Gar Kam-lam said Wu had been hiding in Sai Kung, Hung Shui Kiu, and Yuen Long.
Investigations revealed that several people helped Wu evade capture, bringing the total number of arrests to five. These include a 41-year-old man, surnamed Yiu, who was stopped by police in a private car in Mong Kok on Nov 7, and a 27-year-old man, who was also arrested that day, both accused of arranging transport for Wu. Wu’s 66-year-old mother was also arrested for allegedly misleading police, along with another man arrested on Wednesday (Nov 12) for assisting the suspect. Police said all those arrested are linked to the same gang.

The incident occurred around 5pm on Nov 6, when seven Customs narcotics officers raided a unit at Honour Building in To Kwa Wan. Wu attacked officers with a 30cm kitchen knife, injuring three in the hands and legs. He then locked himself inside and escaped through a kitchen window before police arrived.
