A shocking street fight in Tai Po, captured in a viral 23-second video, escalated from a one-on-one confrontation to a brutal two-against-one assault, prompting police to arrest one man and launch a manhunt for two others.
Yesterday evening, a violent altercation unfolded outside the car park near Kwong Wai House in Kwong Fuk Estate, leaving online viewers stunned. A brief video clip, widely circulated on social media, depicted a heated fistfight between a middle-aged man and a younger individual.
The intense exchange saw the older man initially overpowering his opponent, landing multiple punches in a fiery confrontation.
However, the situation took a dramatic turn when a second individual joined the fray, turning the fight into a two-on-one attack.
The footage showed the middle-aged man being knocked to the ground and repeatedly struck, including blows to the head, in a scene that alarmed viewers.
Many online condemned the violence, expressing concern over the potentially life-threatening nature of the assault, while others noted the unexpected twist in the incident.
Police received a report at 9.43pm of a man found injured on the ground at 28 Plover Cove Road in Tai Po.
The victim, a 58-year-old man surnamed Wong, sustained head and eye injuries and was bleeding but remained conscious when paramedics transported him to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for treatment.
Following an investigation, authorities reclassified the case from an injury report to a fighting in a public place case.
The injured man was arrested in connection with the incident, while the two other men involved fled the scene in a white Tesla electric vehicle.
Police are now actively pursuing the two suspects to bring them to justice.
