A 53-year-old female worker was hospitalized after falling from a ladder while trimming tree branches at Lok Fu recreation ground on Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred at about 3pm at 1 Heng Lam Street when the woman, surnamed Lau, reportedly lost balance and fell approximately two meters from a long ladder. She suffered head injuries and lost consciousness before colleagues alerted emergency services.
The injured worker was transported by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. Police are investigating the incident.

According to information, the victim served as a Leisure and Cultural Services Department grade one worker. She was reportedly clearing branches from trees that had been toppled during Typhoon Tapah, with two 10-meter trees having fallen into the artificial turf football field.
The LCSD confirmed the worker was performing tree maintenance on a work platform when a falling branch struck the platform, causing it to tilt and resulting in her fall. The department stated it is investigating the accident's cause with relevant departments and will maintain close communication with the injured worker's family to provide appropriate assistance.
