The Digital Policy Office (DPO) announced on Friday the launch of a new Hong Kong Cross-boundary Public Services self-service kiosk in Zhaoqing, marking a significant step in enhancing regional integration within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
This initiative allows residents and enterprises in mainland GBA cities to access Hong Kong public services without the need to travel across the border.
With this latest installation in Zhaoqing, Hong Kong’s “Cross-boundary Public Services” kiosks and “iAM Smart” self-registration stations have now achieved full coverage across all nine mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area.
The new kiosk, located in the Zhaoqing Municipal Government Service Center, offers approximately 80 government services provided by 14 bureaus, departments, and affiliated organizations.
Available services span a wide range of commonly used administrative functions, including taxation, company registration, property and vehicle inquiries and registration, applications for personal documents and talent entry, social welfare, education, healthcare, immigration services, emergency assistance, cultural and tourism information, and voter registration.
Users can perform data entry, scan documents, and print results directly at the kiosk, enabling a seamless one-stop experience for processing government-related applications.
The kiosk is accessible during the center’s operating hours: from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding mainland public holidays.
In addition to the cross-border service kiosk, an “iAM Smart” self-registration station is also available at the Zhaoqing center. This facility supports Hong Kong residents living and working on the mainland in registering for “iAM Smart+”, which provides secure and convenient access to some 1,300 online services and government e-forms offered by both public and private organizations through the “iAM Smart” mobile app.
This expansion is part of Hong Kong’s ongoing effort to improve digital governance and facilitate deeper integration within the Greater Bay Area, offering more flexible and efficient public service solutions to citizens across the region.
