According to sources, the 67-year-old was escorted to the Tai Po police station this morning. Dressed in a gray shirt and black trousers, he was released by the police around noon.
Tony Lam is one of 19 overseas-based activists for whom police have issued warrants. The individuals are accused of participating in the “Hong Kong Parliament,” an organization established in 2022 by pro-democracy figures now living in exile.
This development follows last week’s case involving Tony Lam’s former girlfriend, 19-year-old Lan Fei. She was charged with committing acts with “seditious intention” for her alleged assistance to the group. A court denied her bail, and her next hearing is set for October.
The detention of relatives for questioning has emerged as a frequently employed strategy by police in cases related to national security.
