Kai Tak Sports Park (KTSP) will open a 4,000-square-meter children's playground in the North Garden to the public starting Friday.
As one of the city's largest playgrounds, the facility is inspired by salt fields that date back to the Song Dynasty and is divided into five sections.
The park features hills in varying color tones, including yellow, green, blue, red, and orange, which represent the five elements of Chinese philosophy—metal, wood, water, fire, and earth—respectively.
The playground includes interactive installations such as a sandpit, climbing walls, zip lines, and two 10-meter-tall play towers, while barrier-free design elements have also been incorporated to stimulate children’s sensory development.
Separately, KTSP’s multi-purpose courts, which can be configured for tennis, basketball, and volleyball, will open to the public in the third quarter.
These facilities are designed to support collaborative training and community activities and serve as warm-up zones for major competititons.
