The 'Mega Ice Hockey 5's' is Asia's largest ice hockey tournament, with the first match set to begin on April 24. This follows the opening ceremony on April 23 at the 'Mega Ice' rink, situated on the 10th floor of MegaBox.

This highly anticipated tournament is celebrating its 15th anniversary. This year, the event features a record 111 teams from 14 countries and regions, marking the highest participation in its history. The tournament will run from April 24 to May 10, showcasing elite talent from around the globe.
Participants include teams from Australia, Canada, China, Japan, and more, with an impressive 74 teams in the Youth Division and 37 in the Adult Division. Approximately 1,800 players will compete for prestigious awards, reflecting the growing popularity of ice hockey in Asia.
During the opening ceremony, representatives from Kerry Properties, the event's main sponsor, expressed their pride in the record turnout. They highlighted the tournament’s role in promoting ice sports in Hong Kong and extended their gratitude to various partners, including the HKSAR Government and the Hong Kong Tourism Board, for their support in making the event a success.
Since its inception in 2008, the Mega Ice Hockey 5’s has become a significant fixture in the Asian ice hockey calendar, attracting over 15,000 participants from 31 cities. The event has been recognized as a "Hong Kong Brand" promoted by the local government since 2012, showcasing the city’s leadership in the sport.
This year, the finals for both divisions will be streamed live on the official YouTube channel and Facebook page, allowing fans worldwide to witness the thrilling matches. On-site attendees will enjoy multi-angle views on large screens, enhancing the overall experience.
The tournament will unfold over 17 days, with the Youth Division taking place from April 24 to May 3 and the Adult Division from May 5 to May 10. Matches will be officiated by professional referees from North America, with awards including trophies and individual accolades for standout players.
