His agency said Didi only seized and damaged the phone screen, with no physical violence involved. The fan was identified as a "sasaeng" – a term for obsessive fans who stalk, harass and invade celebrities' privacy.
The two sides have negotiated compensation for the phone. No police report or full surveillance footage confirming a physical altercation has been released.
Didi, 23, a member of boy band ONER, has had previous conflicts with obsessive fans. In July, he also grabbed and threw a phone after close-up filming. In October, he said he would take legal action against sasaeng fans for harassment, rumors and misleading public opinion.
