In an episode of the US podcast "Call Her Daddy," Rosé told host Alexandra Cooper she studied the style of older women, bought a short, black curly wig, and purchased clothes, shoes, and a bag to match the look to visit her boyfriend's home.
"Because we couldn't go anywhere, we had to do something like that to avoid being seen," she said, adding the ruse lasted at least six months, creating a dedicated "granny wardrobe" section in her home.

When asked if her boyfriend also disguised himself, Rosé said he only tried to look more mature and did not need wigs or mimic elderly walking styles.
Rosé also spoke about an ex who she said used emotional manipulation, citing work as a reason to keep her away from his friends. She later realized the dynamic was unhealthy when she dated someone more famous who was willing to do ordinary things with her. She said she channeled that past relationship into her song "Toxic Till the End."
