Former Batman star Christian Bale is reportedly in talks to join Marvel's Thor: Love and Thunder.
The sequel to Thor: Ragnarok, which came out in 2017, may potentially be Bale's first comic book film since his final Batman movie in 2012, The Dark Knight Rises.
The role of Bale - who won an Oscar for 2010's The Fighter - is being kept under wraps.
Taika Waititi is returning to direct the sequel, which stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, who will reprise her role as Valkyrie.
Natalie Portman will return as Jane Foster, the character in the comic books who becomes the female Thor.
Waititi will again provide the voice of Korg, who is a fan favorite.
Kevin Feige will produce the film. Ragnarok grossed US$853 million (HK$6.65 billion) worldwide.
Bale recently starred in the car racing drama Ford v Ferrari, which has grossed more than US$200 million worldwide.
Disney expects to release Thor: Love and Thunder in November 2021.
Christian Bale, who left the Batman franchise in 2012, may be seen with Liam Hemsworth in 2021's Thor: Love and Thunder.
