Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (0388) has appointed Daniel Sonder as its chief strategy officer.
Sonder joined HKEX this year from Brazilian stock exchange, B3, where he was most recently CFO.
In his strategy role, Sonder will lead the group strategy function, working closely with the HKEX management committee and executives across the business, to deliver on the group’s strategy and vision to build the marketplace of the future.
HKEX chief executive Nicolas Aguzin said: "With more than two decades of broad international experience in capital markets, financial services and exchange operations, his experience will be invaluable to us as we realise our ambition to build the marketplace of the future."
Meanwhile, HSBC Asset Management appointed Charles Li as its new head of wholesale business in Asia, effective September 1.
Li will be responsible for the coverage of all wholesale clients in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Japan and Southeast Asia.
Li has over 20 years of asset management experience, most recently at UBS Asset Management where he was its head of global wealth management client coverage, APAC, and deputy head of asset management (Hong Kong).
Thorsten Michalik, the global head of wholesale, said Li's wide experience will be instrumental as they continue to focus on the growth of HSBC AM in the region.
