Hong Kong stocks rose on Monday by noon, with Laopu Gold (6181) surging over 8 percent.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index climbed 185 points, or 0.72 percent, to 25,567 at noon.
The half-day market turnover was HK$140.7 billion.
The Hang Seng Tech Index was up by 0.37 percent to 4,876 points at noon.
Laopu Gold (6181) surged 8.5 percent by midday break, followed by Chow Tai Fook Jewellery's (1929) nearly 5 percent growth.
Tech heavyweight Alibaba (9988) also advanced 2 percent.
In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index was up by 0.2 percent to 3,947 points, while the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index decreased by 1.13 percent to 14,148 points at the midday close.
