Hang Seng Index loses over 300 points by midday break

Hong Kong stocks extended early losses by noon on Friday, led by tech heavyweights.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index decreased by 318 points, or 1.27 percent, to 24,891 at noon.

The Hang Seng Tech Index also went down 1.69 percent to 4,619 points at noon. 

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index fell by 1.2 percent to 3,830 points, and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index dropped 1.77 percent to 13,873 points at the midday close.
