Hong Kong stocks extend losses by noon

Hong Kong shares extended losses by midday on Thursday due to the turmoil in the Middle East.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index dropped 319 points, or 1.23 percent, to 25,579.

The Hang Seng Tech Index decreased by 1.21 percent to 4,993.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite Index inched down 0.64 percent to 4,106, and the Shenzhen Component Index increased 1.35 percent to 14,270.
