Hang Seng Index drops below 26,000 points on Thursday as oil prices surge

Hong Kong stocks dropped below 26,000 points on Thursday, as oil prices surged. 

The benchmark Hang Seng Index fell by 335 points, or 1.3 percent, to 25,776 points at close.

The market turnover was HK$291.6 billion.

The Hang Seng Tech Index lost 0.8 percent to 4,871 points.

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index rose 0.1 percent to 4,112 points and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index was flat at 15,107 points.
