Hong Kong stocks rose on Tuesday, supported by a rebound in technology shares and precious metals prices.
The Hang Seng Index climbed 0.82 percent to 26,995, while the Hang Seng Tech Index added 0.68 percent to 5,563.
Tech stocks were mixed. Alibaba (9988) rose 1.3 percent, Meituan (3690) gained 0.3 percent and JD.com (9618) advanced 0.5 percent, while Tencent (0700) was flat. Baidu (9888) and Xiaomi (1810) fell 0.3 percent and 0.7 percent respectively.
Gold and silver prices rebounded sharply, lending support to sentiment. Spot gold jumped more than 2 percent to US$4,767 an ounce, while spot silver surged over 4 percent to US$82.6.
