Hong Kong stocks rebound by midday

Hong Kong shares bounced back to gain by midday on Thursday, targeting the 28,000-point level.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 145 points, or 0.52 percent, to 27,971. 

The Hang Seng Tech Index edged down by 0.65 percent to 5,861.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite Index edged down 0.1 percent to 4,147, while the Shenzhen Component Index increased 0.01 percent to 14,344.
