Hong Kong shares extend slide by midday

Hong Kong stocks extended losses by noon on Thursday, sliding along with the A shares market.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index dropped 149 points, or 0.55 percent, to 26,850 points.

The Hang Seng Tech Index fell by 1.83 percent to 5,799 points. 

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite Index inched down 0.6 percent to 4,101, while the Shenzhen Component Index decreased 0.44 percent to 14,186.
