HK shares rise at open ahead of holidays

The benchmark Hang Seng Index was up 74 points, or 0.29 percent, to 25,875.

The China Enterprises Index inched up by 0.29 percent to 8,966, and the Hang Seng Tech Index increased by 0.14 percent to 5,534.

Tech heavyweights show mixed performance. Meituan (2690) and Baidu (9888) rose 0.9 percent and 0.6 percent, respectively, while Tencent (0700) and Xiaomi (1810) fell 0.2 percent and 0.3 percent, respectively.

Kuaishou (1024) opened 3.3 percent lower after a wave of pornographic content flooded its live streams amid attacks from the gray industry, the worst performance among blue chips.
