As the year draws to a close, Central Market is dressing up for the holidays with a festive return of the “Old But Gold HK” vintage and sustainability concept, transforming the landmark into a three-floor Christmas playground filled with nostalgia, creativity, and eco-conscious living.
Following its well-received debut in June, the initiative returns from December 13 with a seasonal twist, reimagined as the “Central Market x Old But Gold Vintage & Sustainable Christmas Market.”
Spanning three levels, the market brings together vintage treasures, circular fashion, creative workshops, and festive treats, offering the public a warmer, greener way to celebrate Christmas in the heart of the city.
Designed around Central Market’s “Playground for All” ethos, the event blends shopping with participation, inviting visitors not just to browse, but to experience sustainability as part of everyday life.
Across the three floors, shoppers can hunt for meaningful gifts, rediscover pre-loved fashion, and enjoy a sense of community that feels especially fitting for the season.
The festive journey begins on the ground floor at Oasis, which will be transformed into a vintage-inspired Christmas setting from December 13, 2025, to January 1, 2026.
Red-and-white wooden stalls, seasonal arches, and cheerful snowman installations create a cozy European market atmosphere, ideal for holiday photos and leisurely browsing. Visitors can expect Christmas-shaped cookies, handcrafted delicacies, and thoughtfully designed seasonal gifts, alongside interactive game booths such as ring toss and bean bag challenges that add a playful touch to the experience.
Upstairs at the 1/F Event Space, sustainability takes center stage through a series of interactive fashion-focused activities.
From December 15 to 17, the “Old But Gold Swap & Thrift Event” invites participants to exchange pre-loved clothing, turning wardrobes into a shared resource and giving circular fashion a tangible form. This year’s swap also carries a deeper meaning, with a charity focus supporting victims of the Tai Po Wang Fuk Court fire. Clothing collected on site, along with donations received during the event, will see all sales proceeds directed to those affected, weaving compassion into the act of reuse.
From December 18 to 28, the space will host the “Old But Gold Christmas Vintage Flea Market,” curated for vintage lovers and fashion enthusiasts. Local and international vendors will present a mix of apparel, accessories, collectibles, and lifestyle items, offering gift ideas that feel both stylish and personal.
Highlights include local vintage label MIDWEST VINTAGE, American-styled pre-owned fashion store Asian Angel, and original film costumes from Hong Kong productions, made available for purchase through a collaboration with Light2Up. On selected dates, live DJ sets by the Fader Crew will bring a contemporary rhythm to the nostalgic setting.
The celebration continues on the 2/F 24-hour Passageway, where a special Christmas market will run throughout the festive period, featuring seasonal gifts and lifestyle products.
A popular Korean brand joins the lineup, adding an international flair, while a Taiwanese pop-up zone from December 24 to 26 will showcase handmade crafts and design pieces from four selected brands, infusing the space with cultural creativity and warmth.
For those looking to slow down and make something by hand, Central Market is also offering seasonal workshops that embrace the quieter rituals of the holidays.
Participants can craft their own Christmas wreaths using fresh greenery or assemble mini Christmas trees with lights and ornaments, guided by instructors and designed to be accessible even for beginners.
As vintage charm meets festive sparkle, the “Old But Gold HK” Christmas Market offers more than a shopping destination. It presents a gentle reminder that the holidays can be joyful, meaningful, and sustainable all at once — an invitation to celebrate Christmas with care, creativity, and community at the heart of Hong Kong.
