Central is set to take on a warm holiday glow next Friday as the “Immersive Light Show in Central,” one of the highlights of Hong Kong WinterFest, transforms some of the district’s most iconic buildings into a canvas of festive light and color.
Running from November 28 to January 4, the nightly spectacle will bring together eight landmark buildings — among them the Bank of China Tower, Court of Final Appeal, the HSBC Main Building, and the Prince’s Building — in a coordinated projection show designed to wrap the heart of the business district in Christmas cheer.
Preview images released by the Hong Kong Tourism Board show a playful mix of classic holiday motifs, from neatly ribboned gift boxes and dancing gingerbread figures to Santa Claus himself busily packing presents.
The imagery stretches beyond the building façades, spilling onto nearby trees and the ground through 30 holographic projections and large-scale light sculptures that create a sense of motion and interaction with the surrounding space.

The production team has also reimagined nine beloved Christmas songs, including “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” weaving the music into the rhythm of shifting light and 3D animations.
The result promises to be an experience that blends nostalgia with modern visual design — a kind of open-air winter story unfolding against the Central skyline.
For visitors and office workers passing through the district, the show aims to offer a moment of delight in the middle of the season’s bustle, turning familiar architecture into something briefly whimsical and new.
