Whether you’re aiming at a career progression, a career change or simply for intellectual stimulation, the School of English at The University of Hong Kong’s Faculty of Arts offers a stimulating program in Master of Arts in English Studies (MAES).
Available in a full-time mode of one year (2024-25), or a part-time mode of two years (2024-26), the MAES program adopts an innovative, cross-cultural focus, and is taught by leading, international, full-time faculty members. The program boasts a vibrant student community for intellectual exchanges, and comprises experiential learning as well as extra-curricular activities.
A flagship faculty of HKU, the faculty of Arts was founded in 1912 when the University opened, and it has been a focus of academic life on campus ever since, building on its traditions to meet successive educational and intellectual challenges. In the US News and World Report 2021 and 2022, the Faculty was ranked first in Arts and Humanities in Asia, amongst a host of other recognitions.
Qualified students can apply for the scholarships available for this program, including the UGC Targeted Taught Postgraduate Fellowships and the MAES Entrance Scholarships.
Applications close at 12 noon on March 28, 2024, with a further round closing at 12 noon on June 28, 2024 for part-time applicants only.
