Since earning accreditation as an IB World School to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in 2020, Christian Alliance International School (CAIS) has celebrated outstanding results and accomplishments in its students.
The Class of 2025, the third IBDP cohort at CAIS, achieved remarkable scores, including two students achieving 45 points, reflecting the academic excellence and the high-quality teaching and support provided within the IB Programme at CAIS. IB schools are required to undergo a rigorous evaluation process from the IB Organization every five years. In 2025, CAIS completed its first 5-year evaluation, receiving a highly positive report from the IB Organization that affirms the school’s commitment to nurturing inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young learners.
CAIS Head of School, Daniel Schick, says, “In the meetings between our students and the IB evaluators, they noted that our students feel well supported by their teachers—and that is a wonderful comment!” He adds, “We aspire to provide a high-quality environment where students will grow academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually, and these words in the report from our own students are most precious for us.”
The school’s IBDP Coordinator and High School Assistant Principal, Ben Myers, says, “One thing that makes the IB Programme at CAIS beneficial is the weekly ‘core class’, led by our Extended Essay and CAS coordinators, with the main focus on building critical processing and research literacy in our IB students.” In IB Year 1, CAIS students undertake a structured four-part series on research methodology, equipping students with knowledge, strategies, and confidence for inquiry, evidence evaluation and academic writing.
Parallel to its IB Diploma programme, CAIS offers diversified pathways, including the Alberta (Canada) curriculum and Advanced Placement courses. Together, these options provide a robust and diverse range of opportunities to meet the needs of students. Equally noteworthy is that CAIS was awarded the highest Tier 1 accreditation from the Alberta Education (Canada), recognizing its excellence as a leading-edge school.
At the heart of CAIS is a Christ-centred learning environment that nurtures values such as integrity and service. Schick says, “We are very proud to offer three world-class curricula in our academic programming. The fruits are evident in our graduates who are not only accepted into top universities and programs around the world, but moreover that a graduate of CAIS is a young man or woman of integrity, equipped with a humble confidence to serve, lead, and bless society.”
CAIS provides a transformative educational experience that motivates students to think creatively and critically, aligning with the IB mission for an inquiry-based learning. Through its various educational pathways, CAIS offers a well-supported learning environment for students throughout its preparatory, lower and upper primary, and secondary sections. This year, CAIS has chosen “Service: Servant Heart, Serving Hands” as its school theme. Through activities and service opportunities, the school hopes that students can flourish academically and spiritually, with a heart to serve others with humility and courage.
