Shanghai deputy mayor Chen Yujian under investigation, anti-graft watchdog says

Chen Yujian, a deputy mayor of Shanghai, is under investigation over "suspected serious disciplinary and legal violations," China's anti-corruption watchdog said in a statement on Wednesday.

Chen is one of eight sitting deputy mayors of the eastern Chinese city, according to the Shanghai municipal government's website. Chen, 56, is responsible for the city's public health and medical systems as well as its agriculture and rural affairs, the website showed.
