A T'Way Air Boeing 737-800 flying from Jeju Island, South Korea, lost a tire during landing at Taiwan's Taoyuan International Airport on Sunday, forcing a temporary runway closure.

The incident involving flight TW687 occurred at 3.55pm local time. A passenger on board captured footage of the plane landing with its right main landing gear tire missing.
The aircraft subsequently taxied safely to gate A2 at 3.54pm. All passengers and crew were safe.

After the incident, a Japan Airlines flight was suspected of running over tire debris. As a precaution, the airport closed its north runway for inspection, causing several aircraft to abort their landings and go around. The runway was later reopened.
The cause of the tire detachment is under investigation.
