In her speech during the event, Cissy Chan Ching-sze, Executive Director (Commercial) of AA, emphasized that the project will feature Hong Kong’s first dedicated standalone art storage facility.
The Authority also aims to integrate land and marine resources near Hong Kong International Airport, along with duty-free advantages, to attract high-end travelers arriving by yacht or private jet.
Meanwhile, Chan noted that the Hong Kong government recognizes the potential of the marine and yachting economy, driven by growing demand for luxury leisure activities post-pandemic.
She added that private jet travelers, yacht owners, and art enthusiasts represent overlapping demographics, making the Skytopia project ideally positioned to cater to all three segments.
Announced on January, the mega project with HK$100 billion investment will combine commercial activities, pop culture, art trading, entertainment, and leisure.
It will feature Hong Kong’s first one-stop art hub, which combines art creation, appreciation, and trading under one roof, while Airport Bay Marina, Hong Kong’s largest yacht bay, offers over 500 berths.
In addition, the blueprint includes Jet Fresh Market, featuring fresh gourmet products delivered from around the globe, as well as a marine resort and luxury hotel.
