The estimated expenditure for the office on the 23th floor of the Tower is approximately HK$3.63 million, reflecting a decrease of HK$5.79 million from the revised budget for the fiscal year 2024/25.
The Administration Wing attributed the reduction primarily to the savings generated from rent and associated expenses resulting from the move to the new premises.
It has been reported that renovation work -- costing about HK$2.8 million -- for the office in Wan Chai has largely been completed, and Lam is expected to take occupancy as early as the end of this month.
As for the office of the former Chief Executives located at 28 Kennedy Road, which accommodates three former Chief Executives, has an estimated expenditure of approximately HK$11.53 million for the current fiscal year. The figure represents an increase of HK$710,000 compared to the revised budget for 2024/25.
The Administration Wing noted that the increase is largely due to expenses related to end-of-contract gratuities for the staff.
