Firefighters were deployed to the Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works on Monday morning as they were called in to rescue two workers who fell five meters into a catch pit.

The industrial accident happened at around 11am when the two workers fell into the catch pit at the sewage treatment facility.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and helped the two workers return to the surface. One of the workers was bleeding on the head and required treatment on-site before being transported to the hospital. The other worker was put on an oxygen mask after being rescued.
An investigation is ongoing.
