Set up by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the immersive mahjong culture experience section recreated nostalgic settings of classic Chinese banquets and lively public housing estates, where locals gather to play the game.
Staff also took on roles such as restaurant waiters and neighborhood residents, introducing mahjong rules and terminology to participants.
Chen was seen playing mahjong with his staff on the first day of the festival, as his brand also participated in the ComplexCon marketplace.
Furthermore, Lau's social media showed that she surprisingly appeared in an all-black outfit alongside her husband, actor Tony Leung Chiu-wai, joining the game with Chen.
Chen was also seen at a tattoo booth on the second day of the event, where he enjoyed some inking by the renowned tattoo artist Dr. Woo.
Other celebrities who showed up at the event included members of the boy band Mirror Lokman Yeung Lok-man, Anson Kong Ip-sang, Alton Wong Chi-tak, and Frankie Chan Sui-fai.
In addition, Hong Kong actor Stephen Fung Tak-lun and artist Michael Lau Kin-man also appeared at the festival to announce their latest collaboration.
The pop culture festival wrapped up on Sunday (Mar 23).
