The pair finished on 34 points after a grueling 120 laps of the velodrome, 26 points behind Japanese pair Yumi Kajihara and Tsuyaka Uchino. A Uzbekistan pair won bronze.
The madison is a two-person tactical relay event that features a mass start, with points accumulated from sprints every 10 laps. Crucially, an extra 20 points can be earned if a team laps the field.
Meanwhile, cyclist Mow Ching-yin lapped the leading group in the final lap of the men's elite points race, securing a crucial 20 points and claiming the bronze medal for the third consecutive championship.
