The SAR government announced on Friday appointments to the Minimum Wage Commission for a two-year term with effect from March 1, 2025, with Priscilla Wong Pui-sze reappointed as the chairwoman of the commission.

The move also saw 12 members from the labor sector, the business sector, academia and the Government appointed, as well as nine non-official members appointed on an ad personam basis.
Among the non-official members, the three reappointed serving members are Joyce Ma Lai-chong, Ng Wai-yee and Tang Hei-wai, while the six new members are Calvin Chan Ka-wai, Allen Cheng Siu-kai, Fong Yuk-fai, Wilson Kwong Wing-tsuen, Lam Chi-ting and Ricky Szeto Wing-fu.
Secretary for Labour and Welfare Chris Sun Yuk-han welcomed the appointments.
"The Minimum Wage Commission assumes the important mission of reviewing and recommending the Statutory Minimum Wage rate. The [commission] for the new term, under Ms Wong's leadership, will assist the Government in implementing the new annual review mechanism for the Statutory Minimum Wage.
“I am confident that with the wealth of knowledge and abundant experience in various fields possessed by the chairperson and members of the Minimum Wage Commission, it will continue to discharge its statutory function effectively." Sun said.
