The incident happened on a Hong Kong Airlines flight from Bali to Hong Kong last Friday (Feb 7) and was shared by a passenger on Xiaohongshu.
The poster noted the Chinese couple boarding with two children and the dispute started during a safety check before takeoff.
When the flight attendant reminded the woman to stow her handbag properly, she erupted in anger, insisting that no one could touch her bag.
Despite the attendant's attempts to reason with her and seek help from the inflight service manager, the woman refused to cooperate, demanding that her HK$30,000 handbag remain by her side.
The woman went on to complain against the flight attendant for waking her up and tapping her shoulder. Other passengers took issue with her behavior, but her husband fired back, insulting them by calling them "trash", all with a rather arrogant demeanor.
As the couple disembarked from the plane, the woman made a point of bumping into other passengers, complaining that they were moving too slowly on the boarding bridge.
The poster's video captured the couple insulting the other passengers. The husband attempted to provoke a fight while the wife cursed at them and once lunged forward at close range with her fingers.
The conflict was eventually resolved after nearby passengers interfered.
The poster reported the couple's violent behavior to the ground crew and requested the airline to report to the police.
The poster also submitted another complaint via email regarding the couple, urging the airline to put them on their blacklist. In response, Hong Kong Airlines reached out to request more details to investigate the matter further, the poster noted.
Many users online echoed the poster's concerns, encouraging the airline to take appropriate action against the couple if their inappropriate behavior is confirmed.
Several users worried about the couple's children, fearing their parents' behavior could adversely affect them.
