The poster, in a post published on Saturday (Feb 8) also accused the sushi chain of exploiting the incident for publicity purposes.
His comment came after an online clip went viral earlier this month, showing a boy kneeling on a chair with his shoes on and licking a small food clipper stored in a box of pickled ginger. Eventually, the food clipper fell to the floor.
The poster expressed that his child has come to understand that he was wrong and has shed tears over the situation.
However, he criticized netizens for constantly calling his number and sharing his family's photos online after someone posted the information on social media platforms. Additionally, he accused Sushiro of blowing the incident on social media and taking advantage of the attention garnered for promotion.
After coming across the anonymous post, internet users criticized the father as shameless and clueless. Many pointed out that "the incident could have been avoided if you had taken the time to educate your child in the first place."
Another user said that the boy's father was shameless for saying Sushiro was exploiting the incident as a publicity stunt since it damaged the restaurant's reputation and put its employees through the trouble of sanitizing the store's ginger containers.
Sushiro issued a public statement last week, stating they condemned unhygienic behaviors and would consider taking legal action. Additionally, they will consider changing the way they serve ginger slices to prevent similar events in the future.
