Mentally ill woman falls into mountain pit in Tsing Yi

A woman with mental illness was injured after falling into a pit on a mountain in Tsing Yi. 

The police received a report at 10.29am on Thursday from a man indicating that his wife, who is mentally ill, suddenly became emotional and ran up Sai Shan Country Trail near Ching Wah Court.

The woman was injured after falling into a pit measured three-by-three meters .

She received first aid for her head injuries before being sent to Princess Margaret Hospital. She remained conscious and was accompanied by her husband.

The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
