Thailand announced plans to implement the use of digital arrival cards for all foreign passport holders starting May 1.

Replacing the paper form, the digital arrival card aims to streamline the arrival process as well as enhance the country’s security by tracking tourists during their stay in Thailand amid security concerns.
According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, all foreign travelers arriving in the country by air, land or sea will be required to submit the digital form that collects data such as essential personal details, passport information, and the traveler’s address in Thailand.
Meanwhile, visitors from visa exemption countries like Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia will not be exempt from the e-arrival cards.
Sources revealed that the Thai government also considering temporarily suspending the 300 baht entry fee.
Thailand canceled the requirement for foreign tourists to submit the paper-based TM6 forms in July 2022 to boost tourism by easing congestion at immigration checkpoints.
Despite safety concerns over the recent kidnapping cases in the country, Thailand aims to welcome 40 million foreign visitors in 2025, an increase from 35.5 million in 2024.
