A fire broke out Sunday noon on the lower floors of a building on Shanghai Street in Mong Kok, billowing thick smoke but resulting in no injuries.

The blaze occurred today at noon in a sanitary ware company located in the building's attic. Firefighters responded swiftly, deploying a breathing apparatus team to extinguish the flames in approximately 23 minutes.
The company was open for business when the staff noticed the smell of smoke, and immediately called for help. The attic was used for inventory storage.
Approximately 20 people were evacuated. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
The section of Shanghai Street between Mong Kok Road and Bute Street is temporarily closed due to the fire, leading to heavy traffic in the area.
