A six-car crash on the first day of 2025 resulted in three men killed and four others injured.

The fatal accident happened on West Kowloon Highway near Olympic MTR Station at around 1.44 am when a private car driven by a 30-year-old Pakistani man was traveling along the third lane of the Highway towards Western Harbour Crossing.
It was reported that a taxi driven by a 65-year-old man abruptly cut the lane and collided with the private car. The private vehicle lost control and rammed into a concrete barrier before crashing into a moving taxi and three cars nearby.
The private car driver, named Ali and with a Hong Kong ID card, was certified dead at the scene, while two of the four passengers succumbed to injuries after they were rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious states.
The other two passengers of the private car sustained back injuries, and the two taxi passengers suffered limb injuries.
It was learned that all passengers of the private car are Pakistani, according to Sing Tao Daily, sister publication of The Standard.
The 65-year-old taxi driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death, and police are investigating the cause of the accident.
