Budget airline HK Express Airways welcomed its 10th Airbus A321neo, bringing its fleet to 39 aircraft and poised for further expansion by the end of the year.
The newly arrived A321neo began its inaugural flight last Saturday (Nov 9). The aircraft is the largest model in the airline's fleet, which is capable of accommodating 236 passengers.
Chief executive Jeanette Mao Jie-qiong stated on Monday that the company has expand the number of A321neos to 10 in just over a year and a half since receiving its first in March last year.
"With the rapid expansion of our fleet and the launches of new routes, HK Express will increase its weekly flights to over 800," she added.
Mao noted that the airline serves an average of over 15,000 passengers daily and is working towards expanding its fleet to 40 aircraft by the end of the year.
She said the company is eager to embrace the new opportunities that the commissioning of the Three-runway System will bring. "We will continue to expand our fleet, introduce new routes, and enhance our Asian flight network."
