Police received a report from a citizen around 5.49 am, who saw a man in his 20s collapsed right outside the hospital on Po Kin Road in Sheung Shui.
The man was immediately hospitalized for emergency treatment but eventually died. It is understood that the man’s face was bruised and swollen with multiple bruises all over his body.
There were no identity documents on his person and the cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
An investigation by the New Territories North regional crime squad is now underway.
According to live sources, a private car pulled up outside the hospital around 5.45 am. Two men – dressed in black and wearing white gloves – then got out of the vehicle and dumped a man in a red top onto the sidewalk.
They soon fled the scene as the whole process took less than half a minute.
It is understood that the citizen who filed the report spotted a vehicle stopped at the traffic lights when crossing the road and found the unconscious man nearby as the car left.
This morning, a large number of officers returned to the crime scene and cordoned off the area for investigation. They interviewed shopkeepers in the area and checked their security camera footage.
