An investor who says he is a relative of Dubai's ruling family reassured his plan to open a family office in Hong Kong, days after the official opening initially scheduled for last Thursday (Mar 28) was postponed.

Sheikh Ali Rashed Ali Saeed Al Maktoum, who says he is related to Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, stated that the operation of the Office in Hong Kong will proceed as planned.
"The Family Office Sheikh Ali Bin Rashed Al Maktoum" announced that the inauguration ceremony of the Family Office will be postponed until the end of May, according to the statement released on Monday.
"Due to some urgent unexpected private matters, Sheikh Ali Rashed Ali Saeed Al Maktoum from Dubai, has decided to postpone the opening ceremony of the Family Office to the end of May this year, when the Sheikh will visit Hong Kong again." the statement wrote.
It apologizes for any inconvenience caused to all parties and the SAR government for postponing the event.
The Office stressed that Sheikh is keen on the development opportunities in China, HKSAR, and Asia.
"After his first visit to Hong Kong last December, the Sheikh's representatives have visited Beijing, Nanjing, Fuzhou, Nansha and Chengdu to explore development opportunities of various technologies and businesses."
It added that the delegates have been in contact with several skyrail and railway companies as well as the National Rail Transit Laboratory under Southwest Jiaotong University.
Separately, the Office made it clear that all matters related to the Office will be announced and communicated through the official website and email "to ensure transparency and accountability for all future information to be released."
"We reserve the right to take legal action against any false information or factually incorrect information," the statement wrote.
