The number of voters fell for two years in a row, with the number of young voters aged 18 to 30 dropping over 10 percent to 558,286, according to the Registration and Electoral Office.
The registry for the District Council election in December tallied about 4.32 million voters for the geographic constituencies (GCs), which was 1.87 percent less than last year.
The most significant decrease was 10.3 percent in the young voters under 30 category, while the number of voters aged 31 to 60 declined by 3.5 percent.
However, there was a 3.88 percent increase in voters aged over 60.
In the 2023 voter registration cycle, about 31,000 and 81,100 electors have been listed on the omissions list due to death and other inquiry processes, respectively.
Meanwhile, about 31,300 new registration and about 657,900 applications for updating particulars from registered electors were received.
The Registration and Electoral Office reminded that the public could check their registration status and particulars through the voter registration website (vr.gov.hk).
