Authorities have locked down five blocks in Yuen Long, Tsing Yi, Sha Tin, Kowloon City and Kwun Tong on Wednesday afternoon after sewage samples from the housing buildings tested positive for Covid-19.
Residents at Yiu Shing House, Tin Yiu (I) Estate in Yuen Long have to undergo compulsory tests by 8 pm on Wednesday. Authorities aim to lift the lockdown by Thursday noon.
Those at Block 11, Mayfair Gardens in Tsing Yi must get tested by 9 pm, as authorities target to complete the operation by Thursday noon.
Tenants at Chun Yat House, Chun Yeung Estate in Sha Tin must get tested by 8.30 pm, as authorities target to unseal the block at 1 pm on Thursday.
At the same time, Tak Loong House, Tak Long Estate in Kowloon City was locked down, requiring residents to get tested by 10 pm, as authorities target to lift the exercise at 1 pm on Thursday.
Residents at Wo Tai House, On Tai Estate in Kwun Tong, must get tested by 11 pm, as authorities target to unseal the block at Thursday noon.
According to the compulsory testing notice, any person who had been present at the above buildings for more than two hours from February 17 to March 2 must undergo compulsory testing by March 4.
In addition, the government will distribute Covid-19 rapid test kits to residents and all cleansing workers and property management staff working in the following areas starting from Thursday upon Covid positive sewage:
1. So Uk Estate and Hoi Ying Estate, Sham Shui Po
2. Mun Tung Estate and Yu Tai Court, Tung Chung
3. Ching Ho Estate, Sheung Shui
4. Ping Yan Court, Yuen Long
5. Cheung Hang Estate and Cheung Wang Estate, Tsing Yi
