Residents of Foo Wo House at Sha Tin’s Wo Che Estate were subject to the mandatory testing starting Saturday evening. The lockdown was lifted at 2.15pm Sunday.
Around 1,580 residents within the area were tested, 309 of whom tested positive and 26 tested indeterminate.
Those who have tested preliminarily positive, along with their families, will receive surgical masks and disinfection products as well as additional food packs.
Authorities will follow up on the 46 households who did not answer the door during the testing operation, which involved a total of 731 households.
Separately, the Sau Mau Ping Estate lockdown was also lifted on Sunday at 3.15pm. Of the 1,800 people who received testing, 285 people tested preliminarily positive, while 33 indeterminate cases were found.
The government will also follow up on the 32 households which did not answer the door when visited by staff. A total of 710 households were subject to the testing mandate.
The Department of Health will take follow up action by providing health advice to those who tested preliminarily positive pending admission to hospitals or isolation facilities, and will distribute medical supplies to the families of those affected.
Those who are able to present SMS notifications or wristbands as proof of negative test results may leave the premises through designated exits. Those who fail to do so may be liable to a fine of HK $10,000.
