“iAM Smart”, a mobile app through which the public can later schedule for free coronavirus inoculations, will be launched next Wednesday. By then, users could get access to over 23 types of public services such as renewing car licenses, pay taxes, government rates and electricity bills.
Speaking on a radio program this morning, Sit said a centralized digital system will be able to keep vaccination records of which vaccine they have injected and when to get their second jab.
He added his bureau was considering sharing vaccination records with other countries.
By mid-next year, the platform is expected to support over 170 government services. The new platform will be able to authenticate user’s ID, fill in application forms automatically, digital signing, along with providing personalized alerts such as bill payment reminders.
Sit said the electronic signature services provided in the app enables users to proceed with public services from home, and that can minimize social contacts amid the pandemic.
Given the growing prominence of smart phones in the past decade, Sit said he believes the app can attract a high number of downloads.
