The defendant, Nicholas Lau Chung-long, a chef, was charged with one count of wounding earlier. He appeared before Magistrate Cheung Kit-yee at Tuen Mun Magistrate’s Court today.
He was accused of punching his stepfather Tse Shing-chun in the head, followed by hitting the latter with a tripod for 10 minutes in a private car as they reached Pak Heung Road in Yuen Long on June 26.
The defendant then fled the scene, but returned in five minutes and assaulted Tse again.
The incident was reported by a passer-by and Tse was sent to the hospital after sustaining a bone fractures to his face and injuries to his back and one of his forearms.
Magistrate Cheung said injuries Tse sustained were quite severe, but thought a binding-over order would be appropriate.
