Hong Kong confirms 25 news cases today

Hong Kong confirmed 25 new cases today, taking the tally to 4,683.

Chuang Shuk-kwan of the Centre for Health Protection said among the confirmed cases, 6 are imported cases, and 19 are local cases. 

Chuang added there are less than 10 preliminary positive cases.

Chuang said there’s a “small-scale” outbreak at the Hong Chi Lei Muk Shue Hostel in Kwai Chung, as three of the hostel’s employees are confirmed with Covid-19. She added residents and employees of the hostel are required to undergo quarantine.

6800 specimen bottles from people linked to the Kwai Tsing container port cluster have been tested, among which the Centre for Health Protection has found one confirmed case today. The patient is a truck driver who lives in Tsz Wan Shan.

As for the six imported cases, one returnee from Bangladesh. Another returnee from a vessel arriving in Hong Kong from Malaysia, eight people from the same vessel have been diagnosed with Covid-19 earlier on. 

Another four are returnee from India, they arrived in Hong Kong on August 11 by the plane AI310. Three of them are a family.
